The fundamental science defining materials performance is becoming increasingly important in the upstream industry, driven by the commercial, regulatory and HSE implications of material failure and production loss.

Corrosion testing is a major bottleneck in the R&D process. Current cumbersome methods take hundreds of hours, some test procedures lack standards. It’s an area crying out for improved throughput and quality.

Our multi-cell corrosion test system performs the electrochemistry relevant to a broad range of users – like stainless corrosion, corrosion inhibitors performance, coatings and fuel cell membranes. At the click of a button, it will perform standard corrosion tests like polarisation resistance, cyclic voltammetry and galvanic corrosion at user defined conditions of flow and temperature.

CRD is part of a chemistry innovation HTT project that offers a ten-fold improvement at least; the team provide the knowledge of corrosion processes in upstream oil and gas and fuel cell testing. The greatly boosted experimental capacity allows a more thorough evaluation of composition effects on the performance of materials in exposed environments.
